…one of the largest networks of IT talent in Central PA.

It has to be a two-way fit, and most of the time, it is.

I know how to put people at ease, to make them laugh, and to make them feel good about themselves.

I’m not looking to be an enormous staffing company. I do promise you that I’ll be the best.

Dave Sevenack - SGC

Dave Sevenack

I first met Susan back in 2000 when she interviewed me for a help desk position. My career progressed to positions as an IT Technician and eventually an IT Manager, where I began working with various staffing companies to augment our existing staff. At the time I did not know much about the staffing world, but started to appreciate it rather quickly. I formed some great relationships and wanted to learn as much about the business as possible. At the same time, I was getting less and less interested in my current position. The passion I had at one point for being a “techie” was starting to diminish. I quickly came to the conclusion my personality and skill set would be better suited in an IT sales capacity. I also knew my technical background would give me an advantage because I understood how the technology worked.

I was perusing a job board one day in the fall of 2006 and noticed an ad for SGC. I said to myself, “that name sounds familiar”. I sent in my resume and Susan responded immediately. We met for lunch and remembered each other instantly. I told her I was looking for a change of direction and inquired about her new business. Well, like they say, the rest is history. I started working for Susan in September 2007 and have not looked back since. Susan is amazing to work for and we are having way too much fun!

Notes from Susan: I hired Dave in 2007 and I think he spent about 3 seconds being a ‘new’ recruiter. In all seriousness, I am still amazed at how fast he understood what it takes to be respected in this industry and how quickly he made placements for SGC. I already consider Dave a seasoned recruiter and enjoy watching his career take off while his competition is still in a learning curve. I couldn’t have said it better where he states above “we are having way too much fun.” And that, my friends, is why we are so good at what we do.

I like to say I grew up in the recruiting business, and that is the literal truth. I started working for a professional placement agency when I was quite young, a loooonnnggg time ago. Lucky for me, I had a mentor… who taught me to be fair, tenacious, and humble.
